quiltingmotherof4
I think I need to change the fuse in the motorized feed motor. How do I go about doing that? All of a sudden it acts as though it has no power but it is plugged in and everything is tightly connected.
Mary Beth
Does it have a fuse? I thought it was just a motor...hummm...I'm going to look at mine.
Mary Beth
I'll be darned, it does have a fuse. I would think if the fuse had gone out, there would be no power. You could try changing it.
quiltingmotherof4
I figured out where the fuse is and how to get it out. It is the little black knob between the forward/reverse and On/off toggles. Just rotate with a screwdriver and it pops right out. Now, where to find a replacement fuse. Walmart did not have one. I hope Radio Shack will have it tomorrow. I found this one online at RadioShack.com: "1.5A 250V 5x20mm Fast-Acting Glass Fuse (4-Pack)" I hope it is the right one. Quilting Heidi
I would think if it was intermittent that it might be the brushes on the motor.
quiltingmotherof4
I have now changed the fuse and looked at the brushes. The fuse did not make any difference. The brushes look OK. How long are they supposed to be? These appear to be just about as long as the brushes on the long arm motor. There is just no power at all to the unit.
