Does anyone know what to do when the stitch length/machine speed needle jumps back and forth?

I don't know what to do. It seems like my machine always needs to be adjusted/fixed.

I hope there is an easy answer to this. I've got several hours that I could be sewing but I don't think I should use the machine when it is doing that. I've tried turning it off and then back on; doesn't do anything. And this just happens at times. I can't see any reason for it to start and then stop doing this.

I'd be sure to check my wheels first. It sounds to me like it might be the encoder wheel not making the proper contact.

With mine, it seems like there are 3 or 4 clicks of the button to each number on the dial. When I'm on the first click of a number, the dial does jump back and forth but it doesn't affect the operation of the machine.

I have had the same experience, and I agree with Holly, it doesn't affect the machine or the stitching. I always thought of it as 91/2 instead of 9 or 10.

Turn on your machine and stitch away!

I would really suggest you call Amy at apqs, they give terrific instructions on how to fix things.. there is an 800 number, and either Amy or christy can help with most all problems.

I also have learned to take notes.. himself remembers one thing, I remember another, so that helps get the right info.
