MarieBrewer
When you use your power advance to roll your sandwiched quilt, do you then release the tension on the sandwich by unrolling just a slight bit the quilt top and backing/batting pieces? I finished a quilt and I see there is a tear in it. Am wondering if the fabric was too tight or if it was because it was cheap and old fabric. Any suggestions please and thanks for your help. Katydids
Marie, I release my brake just enough to let the fabric advance without any tension. Not enough to cause the fabrics to start unrolling. Then I advance the sandwich, tighten the brake, and then snug up the rollers. I'm not sure if this is the proper way as I have yet to take my beginners classes, but it has worked for me. Hope this makes sense. Patty
