Luvstoquilt
I have read lots of posts on here about tension and have gotten pretty good. I have one little problem and could use your input. I am using Essential from Connecting Threads on top---bottomline prewound on the bottom. I can get a nice balanced looking stitch but must have the top very tight. It stitches just fine---but when I drag the machine to travel to another spot it breaks. I have to pull on the top thread to be able to move over to another spot. I love this combo as both threads are not too expensive.
juliagraves
I've not used this thread, but what about marking your preferred tension spot with a marker, and then loosening the tension when you move, and then retightening the tension back to your mark? Alternatively, you could cut your thread each time, but I know that's time-consuming. Good luck! Julia
Quilting Heidi
I've never used that combo so I'm no help. I would think it has something to do with the needle being in the most upright position so that it releases the tension on the tension disk.
