uncquilter
I need help with thread breaking. I believe it is a threading issue but I am not sure. I am using Presencia which is what I use on my DSM without trouble. I have never tried it on my Liberty until today. It is in the bobbin also. Today is also my first try using my Hartley horizontal spool holder. I'm wondering if I am not using the horizontal spool holder correctly. This is a small charity quilt that I was hoping to bring to the guild meeting tonight. Why do I always wait till the last minute to do something? Sigh. Any help is appreciated. Oh, I just cleaned the machine and put in a new 4.0 needle. Also tried rethreading. Thanks Carol
calicokat
Any chance you got the needle in backwards when you put it in? That was my culprit once. And, recheck the thread path, sometimes stuff happens and it doesn't quite get threaded right.
Quilting Heidi
Do you have it so that the spool can't move at all? Back off the spool holder and see if that helps. The other thing to check is to make sure the spool itself doesn't have a burr that the thread is catching on.
uncquilter
Well they say the third time is the charm. After posting the message I went back to the machine and rethreaded for the third time. The machine is stitching beautifully now! Carol
Quilting Heidi
Oh and you might want to consider a thread net too.
