KerriM
Does anyone know where to find a sewing machine that only sews the bigger blanket stitch? I sew many polar fleece throws (2 pieces sewn together) and would like an easy and fast way to sew them together. (Like commercially made ones only with two pieces instead of one). I've looked at the Merrow Industrial ones and they seem to have a patent on this type of machine and it is a foriegn brand and just don't know if I would be able to run it or even repair it. Any thoughts? I do have a regular machine that has a blanket stitch but its too small and I also want to use the thicker thread (like yarn) for it. Thanks for any info. April W
I blanket stitch my fleece throws with yarn and a big yarn needle. We keep a throw in each of our vehicles along with a carseat for grandkids. They love the fleece.
AbigailE
Have you tried using your serger? Faster, easier, convenient to repair. A suggestion, but not the reply you were looking for.
Bonnie
The only way I know to do that is by hand as April said...and I agree with the serger....get some Wooly Nylon and you can stitch it like a rolled hem. Sealing the edges so that you can't even see them...its like a satin stitch but the Wooly Nylon really covers the area.
Loes
Or try doing a blanket stitch with thicker material: not as upper thread, but as bobbin work. Loes
