Kay Anderson
I just finished my last quilt for Christmas! I'm finaly done! It's a good thing to because we are traveling to Texas tomorrow. This last quilt was an antique. My sister resqued the top from a rag box at the Salvation Army. In one corner is hand embroidery (in the same thread as the peicing) that says Feb. 1914! That makes this top 95 years old!!! What was the oldest top you have ever quilted? It was in decent shape, sorta wavy, but well peiced. Some of the fabrics are very brittle, I have my doubts as to how long it will hold up to being used. Don't have time to get a photo right now. I'll try to take one when I give it to her. Have a Merry Christmas everyone!
Butterfly
Kay, That's so neat. Please do try to post a picture when you get a chance. I'm always so interested in those old quilt tops. Merry Christmas to you too. Jessica
kennan100
I'd love to see it, too. That is an awesome find!
Primitive1
I'd love to see the photo too, I have an old Sunbonnet Sue quilt top that my great aunt made by hand in the 1930's...used to use it as a bedspread as a teen. Now I've thought about quilting it but wasn't sure what I would do quilting wise or if it was better left alone...all that to say that I'd love to see yours when you get a chance...
