Marg Layton
Can I increase my y limit on my Millie to 18.5 inches? I have a quilt top with 18 inch blocks, and right now my limit switch will not allow me to do the block in 1 pass. How would I do this?
smorris
Hi Marg You can unplug your y limit switch but I dont think this will help because you don't have the space between the rollers. I think 17" is your maximum quilting space. sue in australia
Marg Layton
What a frustration! The reason I bought my Millie was because it had the largest throat space to work with. Bummer! I will just have to do to plan B then, which is to choose another design, or else only do half a block at a time. Sorry to vent, but some days I wish I could do more! smorris
Hi Marg Since you can quilt a 17" block - just - with your CQ, what about freehand echoing around the outside of the motif to fill the block?
Marg Layton
Hi Sue: Thanks for the suggestion, but I try to do as little freehanding as possible, because I don't want to draw attention away from the digitized design. Besides, any time I have to do anything like freehand or stitch in the ditch, I get terrible pain in my back from bending over. That's why I got the CQ so I wouldn't be working in pain anymore!
