annaquilts
Just wondering who is planning on attending Deloa Jones' quilt camp at Camp Mowana?
Quilting Heidi
Anna I won't be a Camp Mowana this year. I'll be at Camp Sonrise here in NY the week after. Much closer to home for me.
annaquilts
Heidi, It was quite a trip for you, glad you were able to get enough people to have quilt camp close to home.
Rita
what are the dates, Anna? I'll at least be there for show and tell! Rita
Quilting Heidi
Anna, I've actually made the trip 3 years in a row. It is only 9 hours which isn't bad but now it will be 1 1/2 hours from home. My original reason for not coming was because I'm going to Houston in Nov. and I just can't take that much time off work. Now that it is close to me I will be able to take at least a couple of days. Anniquilter
Heidi, where can I find the details about Camp Sonrise? I couldn't find them on DeLoa's site. I would love to come to Camp Sonrise if I can finagle it & it coincides with my birthday so a present to me I hope!
Quilting Heidi
Anne, Here is the direct link on Deloa's Website. It would be great if you can make it. Definitely worth it. http://deloasquiltshop.com/campsonrise2010.html
Anniquilter
Thanks Heidi. Have you stayed here? What's the accommodation like? I'm wondering which to book. Quite like the idea of access to a kitchenette etc. By the way - how's your foot doing? I saw you'd finished a quilt the other day......
Quilting Heidi
Anne, I have not stayed here but it is only a little over an hour from here. I will stay in the lodge area. I have stayed at Camp Mowana and according to a friend who has been both both she says they are about the same. Nothing fancy but clean! The foot is healing well. Still hurts but getting better and better. Thanks for asking!
mrmquilt
Anna, I'm hoping to go. I haven't sent any money to Deloa yet so I don't know if she is still saving my spot. Since moving things are wonky so everything is up in the air. Michele
