Lynne in Iowa
Advice - I've got some and I need some. What is the best way to make sure the joins between the swags are exact? When I move the template I seem to get a little off. Luckily with this quilt it is the perfect spot for big buttons. I am using the middle one on the small side. Advice - Take a picture, draw or at least write down which direction your swags go. I got to the other end and forgot - guessed wrong - FROG! I'm ready to turn for the sides. Keep your fingers crossed everything matches up!
Quilting Heidi
Lynne, What I do is take the measurement of the swag length and put a little mark with chalk. That way I'll know if I'm getting off the mark. This also helps if your quilt isn't the exact same on all 4 sides but I'm sure nobody runs into that problem :D. Hope that helps. Yes pictures are very helpful!
Sandra Darlington
I haven't done the swags...but after I frogged a border once because I went (I think it was feathers) in the wrong direction, I keep a small tablet nearby and draw a rectanglar and add borders, corner stones , whatever I need, then I draw arrows in the border to remind me of the direction I want to stitch in. It helps me.
