Julie Harstad
Something to look at if you are experiencing thread breakage. Thanks for all the input earlier as to what to look for when the thread keeps breaking. I tried a multitude of your suggestions. The final answer for me had to do with the bobbin. The tread was not winding onto the bobbin properly. It was winding onto the bobbin too loosely, creating uneven layers of thread and ultimately causing loose loops on the bobbin. We tried a new bobbin winder and problem solved! It also solved the challenge of the loose tension on the bottom thread. Finished the baby quilt (already gone!) and half way through the last Christmas gift. Sure goes faster when the thread doesn't break every few inches!
