jimerickson
Angie: From your posts, it looks like you know a good bit about domestic embroidery machines. I think you indicated in one post that you once owned a Babylock Ellageo. I am thinking about buying one, and would appreciate your advice. I'd like to keep the purchase price under $1000. Is this the best used machine in this price range, or should I be looking for a different machine? Will I be sorry that I didn't spend a bit more on a newer machine? I certainly appreciate your thoughts. Thanks. Jim BTW I have an Ult2 w I/S Turbo like your old Rosie.
Sparkle
Jim, You don't mention the condition of the machine. How much usage it has? New-used? Have a Babylock dealer demo the different models for you. I don't know if you "should be looking for a different machine"? Do you mean Babylock machines? or another brand? If it's different models of Babylocks?---That depends on your budget. If you are buying a near new---or new Ellageo. Go for it! One of the best Babylock models made IMHO. PS. I'm sorry I missed your posting until now---
jimerickson
Angie: I'm looking at a used machine. About 3.5 million stitches. It looks to be in good condition. I was asking about other brands. I think you've pretty much answered my question. They are good machines, right? It's an ESG3. Thanks. Jim
Sparkle
Jim, I think 3.5 million stitches is a lot of use---I would look for a machine that had less "milage" if you can find one.
jimerickson
Angie: I passed on the machine. Is there a significant difference between an ESG 2 and an ESG 3? Should I look at 2's as well? Thanks for your help. Regards. Jim
jimerickson
Angie: I missed your reply about the ESG2. I'm trying to get a feeling for what the differences in these older machines were. I've looked at a lot of postings on the web, but most don't have much info. Thanks again for all your help. Jim
