Bonnie in Ok
What is an average price you would charge to cut and peice a quilt block tht is 12 insches sq? The blocks are from Ella Mae's Sampler. The person that wants me to do this just doesn't want to finish any more of the blocks. There are about 7 left of the sampler blocks. Melanie Rouse
You could always figure so much per hour. Estimate how long it will take you and take that times 20. It certainly is a skill and worthy of at least that.
Primitive1
I would go with the hourly rate too, I am working on a quilt for a customer that doesn't do any piecing..so I charge her by the hour and I charged a high rate trying to discourage (I'd rather be piecing my own and spend the time quilting) but some will still pay it anyway. And if you are asking why she doesn't do any piecing and asks me to quilt for her - she does cross stitch and pays me to finish her quilts. I'd do one block and see how long that takes and then let her know what it would cost her for you to finish the remaining 7 blocks. She may surprise you and say go for it! Primitive1
Oh, the other advantage is that you can be sure your piecing is good and flat when you get ready to quilt it!
