Sandra Darlington
I am just loading my next customer quilt. She provided Warm & Natural in the package. I rarely use this batting, so I can't remember which side goes up or down. Does the bumpy side face down towards the backing? Or, does the bumpy side face up towards the quilt top? Thanks
ffq-lar
Hi Sandra, Dirty side up with W&N. The small flecks of debris go up--that is also the "dimple" side. Dimple side up, rough side down. Hold it vertically under a light to make sure of the dimples. I was just reading your post with the dilemma of the centered backer. You are a class act, my friend! I am sending a hug.....
Sandra Darlington
Thanks so much, Linda. I am so upset over this, I am shaking!
Boni
I hate to throw a wrench in the works. If the quilt top is made of light fabrics, transparent enough to see through, I will put the flecks side down. Otherwise, dimples up.
Sandra Darlington
Thanks, Boni. Fortunately, the top is mostly dark colors and the small areas of light have designs in them, so they should hide any show through. But, that was a great reminder to me to think about in future quilts.
BethDurand
After the day you've had, you are back at your machine? You could take a break you know.
Sandra Darlington
I was just looking over my next quilt and when I saw the batting, I thought I better ask to be sure! No more quilting tonight.
