Most bed quilts don't need to be blocked unless it is really wavy and going to hang in a show. Try using regular skinny pins to pin it down right in the seam line where the binding is. yankiequilter Posted September 16, 2011 Report Share Posted September 16, 2011 I blocked a quilt last week for the first time and had some concern before I started about the pins leaving a rust mark on the quilt. I did a test on white fabric, put a few pins into it and batting, sprayed with water and let it dry. The pins that I had didn't rust the fabric, but I had a caution in the back of my mind. I don't know if all pins are OK or if some will rust when wet. As Shana suggested, pin in the seam of the binding. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
