Bonnie in Ok
Those of you that make t-shirt quilts for others do you put a label on them that you made or quilted it? If so how big do you usually make the label?
JustSewSimple
I add a label after I have it quilted. It is a blank white or off white piece of fabric about the size of a post card. I go ahead and put the date on it and Quilted By and leave the rest blank. I use a Micron pen and I show the owner the pen to get to add whatever they want. Bonnie in Ok
Thanks Sylvia, Knew if anyone did you did because you have made so many t-shirt quilts. I am making one right now for a silent auction at a local college so there isn't any particular message to be put on a label but wondered if it was approiate for me to add my information. Anette D.
Bonnie, I also make many t-shirt quilts from beginning to end. I purchased small 1 inch by 2 inch (approximately) labels that say Made by ... and then my name. It's one way to get future customers. It is also small enough to not get in the way for the quilt owner. If companies can put their little tags in our purchased items, we can certainly put our names in the items we make. Just my thoughts. Anette
JustSewSimple
Bonnie, when I do one for charity (like your auction), I make sure I make my information clear and I even put my phone number on it. Also, I put a ribbon on the quilt, usually red, and I tie a business card to the quilt. It is excellent for advertising your work. In fact I thought I was done with T-shirt quilts for this year but I got another and just couldn't say no! I agree with Anette about the advertising!!!!
