Della
Hi all. I have this tulip quilt to do and am wondering if I am on the right track. I am thinking a meandering feather all through the black fabric with King Tut varigated thread. The thread is the colors of the tulips. But what should I do to the tulips themselves? Thanks, Della
quilted charm
I don't know, but that quilt is beautiful! The feather idea sounds good to me. And the colored thread should play off the tulips nicely.
Della
Thanks, Leslie. I started doing the meandering feather and it is pretty but now am concerned that the colorful thread is taking away from the tulips. I think I will post a picture and then you can help me again. I am thinking I may have to take some of my stitches out.
Quilting Heidi
I like the meandering feather idea but I'd use black. You have a lot of color going on already. SID the tulips and you can add in a swirl in the middle if you feel like it needs to be tacked down. Do a leaf shape in the green, cc the center. That is a really pretty quilt. Primitive1
If you change your mind, I am thinking black thread would give the background a nice texture with those feathers and let those colorful tulips pop!
