PeggyB
This quilt is for a guild member who is moving away from Texas. I am SID and McTavishing around the boots. I am thinking about stars in the sashings. The dark fabric is a gray/black swirl and if I piano key in the rectangles (7 X 10 inches)in the border will that be enough quilting in the border and sashings with the dense fill around the boot? any other ideas on what to do with the border? I am pressed for time, but would like it to look good and obviously let the applique shine. Thanks!
Bonnie
Piano key or crosshatch the outside border, inside sashing I'd not pano key those. Crosshatch yes or maybe a freehand viney design. How wide are the sashings.
PeggyB
the sashings are two inches wide.
PeggyB
someone suggested I replicate the barbed wired in the brown squares, but everything I draw looks like a mess, so I am thinking stars. Thanks,
Bonnie
Peggy stars are also good, but I saw curls that could also be a rope coil.

Neher-in-law5
any barbed wire that I see usually looks like a mess too, of course it is rusted and in the reject pile, not on a quilt!! Have fun with this one.
