Conny
I am quite happy with my tension but I do have a couple of concerns. My bobbin tension is set quite a bit tighter than suggested for prewound bobbins (I'm using Glide Delights). Consequently, my top tension is also fairly tight. Should I reduce my bobbin tension to almost nothing and my top tension to very little and then fiddle until I am happy with the tension? I do get a slight pull in the corners and I'm wondering if a looser top and bobbin tension would help with that. The reason I ask is that I have two things that happen occasionally. The first is that my top tension will sometimes come out of my first pigtail. The second is I will occasionally get a longer bump stitch. It is almost like the stitch doesn't connect. I can tell when it is going to happen as there is a slight hop off of the thread cone. I've tried several different cones, so I know that is not the issue. jmcclannan
It does sound like your bobbin tension is too tight. I would loosen and do a test before adjusting the top tension. You might need to go back and forth with adjusting bobbin and top till you get it right. I have found that I can have the tension a lot looser than seems right. Sheri Butler
I'm with Jewels. My tension always feels a tad loose on all threads. I also have seperate bobbin cases I use for different weights of threads, so I dont have to adjust the bobbin tension, just the top.
Busy Quilting
I also like to run my bobbin tension a lot looser than it seems everyone else does. I run it at 150-160 on the Towa.
