Patrice
I have ordered a George machine and need advice on what thread to use to start with. So fine #50 and Bottom line?
Guest Linda S
Whichever threads strike your fancy would be good. Those sound like two good threads. I also highly recommend Glide and the magna glide bobbins. You won't have much backlash issue in your bobbin tension, as you'll be moving your quilt instead of your machine. Enjoy! Sparkle
So-Fine for sure----Bottom line in a sit down quilting machine? I'm not sure about that one. Check the Superior website as they do list what threads are good for sit down type machines, and what works well on stand up long arm machines. I know my older Bernina 153 did not play well with Bottom Line. My dealer tech and I could never figure out why. I would try the So-Fine first----
lisae
So Fine now comes in three weights-- 30 wt, 40 wt and 50 wt. Be sure you get the proper weight depending on the type of quilting you are doing. I like the 50 wt for fine quilting like background fills. Glide is excellent thread and my favorite. It has a little bit of sheen to it and shows the stitches off very nicely. Too many choices, huh??
