sewingupastorm
Ok I guess I need some help learning how to post the image. Can someone walk me thru that. I found the icon for browsing my photos and hit open and hit post. I must be missing a step. In any case you can see three photos of it on my blog: http://enchantingquilts.blogspot.com/
ramona-quilter
I love this quilt. I am normally very traditional but this one is fabulous. I love the colors and the wacky wheel patterns. My drawing is not so good but this is what I saw. I think rays in the 'solid' spokes and wavy serpentine lines in the 3-pieces between the spokes. Then a swirl & curl in the background using a turquoise thread. I think the wheels need two different threads, one the turquoise blue and the other on the opposite side of the wheel which is more like a tangerine or a black. Black would probably tame it more. Please post when you finish. I can't wait to see what you do with it.
sewingupastorm
Ramona Quilter (by the way my Uncle lives about 3 miles from downtown Ramona! Thanks for the compliment on my wacky piecing. This was an improv peices and I used the book "Playtime for Quilters" as the beginning point of making these things (for lack of anything better to call them). The background is my own handye (I also dye fabrics). I am most impressed with you line drawings and woud love to learn how to do that myself. In any case you have given me some ideas I had not considered and I think I will do that block shape as you suggested as I really like what you drew. I will be doing each shape as a different thing so they will all vary in the way I quilt them. Should be a fun project and since it is mine I only need to please myself! Thanks for looking and also for you suggetions.
kennan100
Where did you get the black and gray "McTavishing" fabric? How cool is that! I can see it in the center picture on your blog.
AnuGram
Considering that you started with what you refer to as some ugly fabrics, you have done a amazing job of making a quilt that really sings!! I'm keeping this one in my favorites for the future! Sara
