QuilterMomma
I have this Log Cabin Star nearly done. I have quilted the main motifs in each block (16 x 2) and now am doing the centers with feathers to join the designs together. My question to you would be: In your opinion, do you think that the outer edges between the motifs needs to be quilted or not? I ask because I am really not sure. I do not want to SID the blocks because the back is a solid cream kona cotton and then sid would ruin the affect of a Wholecloth Back to the quilt. The space varies from 3/4' to 1.5 to 2" at most in the larges gap area so if I do, will have to be just an outline of the motif which then with the centers being feathered, would that really work? CrazyAboutQuilting
If you are worried about spaces not having enough quilting in them compared to the rest of the quilt, you could just echo your quilting in the open areas and that would take care of the problem and still continue with the whole cloth appearance on the back. It looks beautiful, what we are able to see from this picture!
dlnewell
I would fill in the area. It's hard for me to tell what the design is, but would pebbling work?
