newmillie2010
I know that with a wall-hanging, QD on bottom and wool on top is the accepted duo. I don't have a wool piece big enough, so would the QD Poly in place of the wool work just as well? I'm not worried about the quilting being accentuated as with the wool, I just want the same "feel" and the same "hang". Thanks.
Quilting Heidi
If you don't want the loft then the QD poly is a wonderful choice for a wallhanging. Make sure you use either the middle (request I think I can never remember) or the supreme.
newmillie2010
And what about QD Puff? I realized that I have a lot of the Puff ...
Sandra Darlington
I recently used QD 70/30 on the bottom and QD Puff on top on a wall hanging and it worked very well together. I did a lot of quilting, so it wasn't very puffy when I got done, but it looked good. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
newmillie2010
thanks to both of you! got my answer ... puff it is!
Quilting Heidi
Puff by itself isn't the way I'd go just because it drapes a little better and that isn't really what you want for a wall hanging. Puff in conjunction with a QD poly of 70/30 is a perfect combo as well.
Guest Linda S
For a wallhanging, I'd go with just the one layer of batting. You don't want something puffy on your wall, do you? A poly usually drapes nicely on the wall, although the QD blend should be just fine. I think you'll be disappointed if you use two layers of batting, particularly with Puff on the top, for a wallhanging.
