Anne from Guam
Yikes! I'm not sure what to do! I started on a customer quilt, it is a quilt top I bought on line and it is a Mariner's Compass. I figured out what to do for the quilting and I have already stabilized the entire king sized quilt and started in on the quilting. When I was advancing the quilt to the next section, I noticed how super light it felt. The quilt is SO thin! It is like there is just a layer of flannel for batting!!! I am using a Quilter's Dream cotton batting. It must be their lowest loft . Do people really use this thin batting??? The nice thing about this batting is that no matter how much quilting I do the quilt will not be one of those heavy monsters. I guess you could call it a summer quilt? meg
I like light quilts for snuggling under. Only problem is that you dont always get great stitch definition.
RoseCity Quilter
Like meg said, ok, but not much stitch definition. I am doing one right now for a customer who gets very hot. She asked for no batting. It is the second one I've done this way for her, so she obviously likes it. Not my choice , but it works......
