SandysSewingsensations
I have a customers quilt that is a crazy quilt with flannel and a muslin foundation. She chose a flannel backing fabric and a cotton batting. I use superior threads and she wants an all over meandering done. I was wondering what size needle I should use since I have never done a quilt with a foundation and it is pretty thick, any suggestions. delld
I wouldn't use anything less than a 4.0!!!! You could used a 4.5 but I understand if you go up to a 5.0 you will need to re-time your machine in order to use that large needle Maybe Dawn will chime in!!! . SandysSewingsensations
Great thanks I was thinking a 4.0 or 4.5 but was unsure. Thanks Sandy
witha'K'quilting
our machines are timed to a 4.0 needle, but we can use needles from 3.5 to 4.5 without the need to retime. so, either needle size is fine. i would use at least a 4.0 unless you have a 4.5!
