catsigler
I've hit a snag installing the micro drive handles. If I install low on the needle bar cover, the thread cutter is in the way. If I move it up to clear the thread cutter, the light is in the way. Myrna? Anyone? Help?
Mary Beth
Cathey, I'm not Myrna...(that reminds me of that Jessie Colter song...I'm not Lisa), sorry....can you go halfway in between? I have a Millie and I am looking at it now, mine is up too high and it is even with the light bulb...I need to lower it, but I can bring it down where the handles can sit on top of the quilt...which would be too low. catsigler
I'm wondering if I have the right handles. Or if the light is installed incorrectly. I need to see some pictures. Fortunately I have yesterday's Fons&Porter on Tivo, so will watch AGAIN and see if I can figure out what's going on.
Mary Beth
okay, I missed Fons and Porter so I am out of the loop, as always. On the APQS home page there is a list of "Celeb" type quilter...click on Marilyn Badger - she has a Millie with micro drive handles. See if that helps. Myrna Ficken
Cathey your micro drive attaches with the screws that tighten on your left side at the front. Put the handles down. Hold the pieces together with the handle parts resting against the quilt top or throat plate. Tighten each allen screw a bit at a time until you get them both started. Then push the BC up on the post until your handles are about a 1/2 inch off your quilt or a bit less. then tighten all the way. You want to tight each side a bit at a time. You just want them high enough as not the have them catch or rub on thick seam. let me know if you are still having problems.
ncutt
And make sure you don't install them backwards like I did!
