Bonnie in Ok
Just looking for opinions for T-Shirt batting and why you prefer using that particular kind.
ffq-lar
I've quilted many and always recommend the thinnest poly we could find. The stabilized shirts are heavy so there's not much added weight if you use poly. And many times a flannel backer will be used, adding more weight to the mix. micajah
Bonnie, my preference is hobbs polydown. It's light, and doesn't add a lot of weight to the sometimes already heavy t shirts. The fibers are smooth so it doesn't grab the thread and cause tension issue or thread breakage. Gives good stitch definition, launders and dries fast. Warm but not too warm, can be used here in Ga in the summer if not too hot outside. Debbie
Joyce
I have also always used polydown from Hobbs, never had any problems.
Sandra Darlington
I prefer to use Quilters Dream, Dream Green. It is a thin poly and even though it is light green in color, it does not show through the thick, stabilized tee-shirts. I have quilted quite a few customer's tee-shirt quilts who used Warm & Natural as their batting. Some use it because it has to be a "natural" product, but I think most use it because they can use their 40% or 50% off coupon at JoAnn's. They seemed to stitch out just fine, but I don't know how the 3% (or more) shrinkage will make them look after they are washed. I love that "cellulite" look on many quilts, but not sure I would like it on a tee-shirt quilt.
SewCuteQuilting
I've grown fond of using Soft and Bright poly by the Warm Co. It is somewhat lofty and just heavy enough for West Texas!
