I started quilting years ago after watching a Simply Quilts show. I immediately ordered Alex's "Start Quilting" book and did the rail fence wall hanging. I've been hooked ever since, lol I also agree that the new quilting books & patterns should be reviewed (like Oprah's book segment) when the guest use to come on Simply Quilts and plug their books/patterns most of the time I would buy them...so I would like this to be part of the Quilt Show.
