cegates
I have my first long distance quilt customer and would appreciate any tips for mailing finished quilts back to her. What is most cost efficient? How do you package the quilt? Would welcome any and all information. Thanks! Carol
Sharon Deming
Carol, I wrap the quilt securely in plastic and put it in a box sealed well, along with the recipients name and address (inside the box). The most cost-effective method for me is to use the US Post Office, first class, and insured for the customer's costs (fabric, batting, thread) plus my quilting fee. Tracking is provided and a receipt-signature requested. Cost was very reasonable, and the quilt arrived in 2 days! I'd like to know what others do, also. Thanks for asking the question! cherylannie
Sometimes the "If it fits, it ships" boxes are sometimes cost effective. Our postoffice is very good about giving me all of the shipping cost and choices.
