Gator
"casket quilts" interesting. My quilt guild had a presentation in October, Halloween. A quilt historian came from Baltimore and one of her subjects was "coffin quilts" which was used prior to 1900. It was very interesting. I\'m originally from the Gettysburg area and Jenny Wade, the only civilian killed in the battle was wrapped in quilts until her family was able to bury her. MtnBarb
Like Patty Jo, I used to receive flowers from someone that worked at a funeral home. He was very nice and sadly died young. Also a member of our quilt group was asked to make a "casket quilt" for someone in the next town that was also an excellent quilter. I think it would definitely dress up the funeral homes to have a few quilts hanging in the rooms. It would make it feel more comforting.
