Berny
I had to rip a quilt because I wasn't pleased with the stitching on the backing. I redid the quilt but you can still see where I ripped out the stitches. I tried spritzing it and also ironing it with lots of steam. It's a bit better but you can still see that it's been ripped. Is there anything else I can try?? Thanks. Berny
quiltmonkey
No worries. I think those little holes will eventually close up over time.
dtreusch
I did one recently where I tried different things to get the holes to close up: 1. Run a damp sponge over the holes. I had the sponge dampened with ware/hot water. This worked pretty well and closed up most of the holes. 2. Spritz the holes with spray starch. Let the starch soak into the fabric and then iron. I used my small travel Rowenta iron because it gets hotter than my other iron and didn't use any steam. This worked wonderfully and got rid of all of the holes as soon as the starch was dried from ironing. The fabric looked like new and you could not tell that it had been frogged. Just be sure to tell your customer about the starch. Debbi
Bonnie
And if it is your own personal quilt...when you wash it, they holes will close up as well.
