Bonnie Posted August 13, 2008 Report Share Posted August 13, 2008 They just give a gentle lift to the clamp strings to keep the clamps from banging into your machine or your extended bed from getting caught on the clamps....and they also give just a little bit more tension on the backer as its being quilted.....
