Just Sew Simple
I bought extra needles and a few ball-point needles for knit. Then I had a BFO (blinding flash of the obvious) moment. If I plan to use a ball-point needle on a T-shirt quilt it will work well on the knit but what about the stabilizer, batting, and backing which are not knit. What do you girls use? SandraG
I use my regular size 4.0 needle. I just slow down over the knits and any designs. Sandra
Just Sew Simple
Thanks Sandra. You, know I think I only ordered 3.5 needles.!!!!!
BethDurand
I'm with Sandra, I just slowed down over the thick ink especially. Also, I've found a couple of times that the heat from the needle going through the ink will sometimes pick up the ink on the needle and then transfer slight shading to the white shirt for a small section. It's probably only something you're going to notice as you are quilting, but you might want to be aware of it. Beth
seakitten
BFO! I like that. Will the Keeper of the List please add it to our lexicon?
Just Sew Simple
Beth, how do you prevent the ink transfer on the Ts? I surely don't want to mess up someone's memories! Sylvia
Just Sew Simple
Catherine in Hawaii, There are soooo many more I could put here like: LIB (Well, I'll be). Say it L - I - B! MR quilts (Them are) Say it M-R quilts. I used to write these on my student's papers but wouldn't tell them what they meant. Finally someone would figure it out. SandraG
You should have gotten a pack of 4.0 with your machine. Sandra
