SharonG Posted August 18, 2008 Report Share Posted August 18, 2008 If you are anywhere near Lake Park in NW Minnesota (near Detroit Lakes and Fargo area) this coming Saturday, I help my good friend Peggy with our 2nd annual outdoor quilt and garden show with money raised going to scholarships in memory of Mary Ballard, Peggy's sister who died on cancer a few years ago. Last year we had 90 quilts hung on their 2 story Victorian house, their garage, and in the yard. Free tea served in pretty tea cups and tea treats to all who come. Decorated fabric baskets, custom pin cushions, a CD of all the quilts displayed, and a 2009 calendar of selected quilts to raise money for the scholarships. Signs on the highway will direct you. It's actually a quilt and garden show, and Peggy won 21 ribbons in the Lake Park Horticultural Show last week, so the flower gardens are beautiful to see in themselves. We even got a website about it (www.gardenquiltshowandtea.com). If you get there, say hi to Sharon, who will be in the garage, pointing out the beautiful pin cushions and fabric baskets for people to buy. It's lots of fun!
