Mary Beth
Those of you who use the CL all the time...have you used the BF blade that comes with the starter kit? Are there tricks of the trade that you would share. I have not used it, but was planning to give it a try. Any tips would be appreciated.
lyonden
Hi Mary Beth - I just talked about the blade in the other post. The only trouble I had was setting up the right angle of the fan. It isn't hard but I didn't notice the angle was off till about the 3rd row. My fans were more upright than I like. The rest is easy. I haven't done any more with the blade because I have the big templates but maybe you could try to do some double rows (1/4 apart or so) I think it would be stunning. I do remember marking the holes I was using with a dry erase marker. Oh yeah, remember to turn the basic unit backwards on the table. I had a devil of a time trying to make it work. Michael even put a picture of it on the directions but hardly anyone picked up that little fact.
lyonden
Yikes Mary Beth - Michael just called me and "reminded" me that you don't turn the unit around on the BP. I was doing the large 18" circles about that same time and that is where you turn the unit around. You would have been really confused. Sorry about that. circlelord
Hi, Here is a quilt by Linda Mae Diny using the CL baptist fan blade. She did all of this from the back of the machine. You, quickly, get to know where to start and stop. Cheers, Michael Click here to see a close up
Mary Beth
I did see that picture. That is too cool. I need to try that!
JoleneK
I have done the BF like Linda's a couple weeks ago. It looks great, you just have to find your center and work out (on the quilt not the gym). It also helps to have a picture for reference as you go. lyonden
LOVE that quilt. Was it hard Jolene? How long did it take? Did you have to turn the quilt or did you turn the templates???
lyonden
Geeze Louise, I just can't get the templates out of my head. Never mind Jolene!! I think I need another cup of coffee today. Guess I'll go sit down and get off the list for a while.
