    Project Angel Quilt

Just finished the top! It is sideways on my design wall, and I rotated the picture, which is why the left edge looks a bit wavy. Also had to work around my husband's exercise equipment to get the picture, hence the black half circle near the upper left. Tomorrow I load and quilt!

Thanks, Mary Beth! I made the half blocks to fill out those rows. I have Sharon Craig's Setting Solutions, where she does advocate cutting up your blocks as needed, but I did not want to do that to blocks I had not made myself!

Here is a map of the layout. I will put this on the back, along with a label, for Rita. If you see a typo, or want your name to be shown differently, please let me know.

My Grandma hand pieced the middle of this quilt about 10 years ago or so I'm told. Yes unfortunately I cut some of it off to finish it. My aunts asked me to finish it for her for her bed. Grandma is in her mid 90s and has a very hard time seeing. I am drawing a blank on how to quilt the center of the quilt, especially the cream colored sashing. The outer blocks I machined pieced all from her stash. thanks in advance for any help.

    Thread

I prefer to use pre wound Magna Glide Classics in the bobbin as my machine is L size and they have 120m of thread on them. When I self wound Bottomline I only got about 90 m of thread and it took over a minute of time. So costwise the prewounds win! Use a colour that blends with the backing and rarely change it to match the top thread changes. On the top I use anything and everything, I change up the thread path, as in the three hole thread guide above the tension disc, before I adjust my top tension. My thread wallS have Glide, Glide 60, Affinity, Essence, Cairo Quilt fro Filtec. So Fine 50, So Fine 40, Bottomline, Monopoly, King Tut, Omni from Superior. Invisifil And confetti and I have used Gutterman cotton.

    I am too bored

I start a warm water pilates class at the end of this month. I am really kind of excited, except for putting on a swimsuit. I am hoping that will help keep me moving and not feeling so stiff. I just had toast for breakfast, there went the carbs for today

    I am too bored

Mary Beth I am with you on the meds for fibro....the side affects were very effective....I felt them right away...the supposed benefits....not so much...so I am reluctant to even try any...the one, I forgot which...said it was a wonderful treatment for fibro...well, I gained 8 pounds in three weeks...that wasn't a good idea.....so I am trying to get more exercise as recommended and yep...the new dog really helps with that....and I have been trying to sllloooowwwwlllyyyy cut down on carbs and lose some weight....It has taken me about 10 years....but as of this morning I have lost 63 pounds.....I told my docs I wasn't willing to try anything unless it was something I am willing to do the rest of my life.....I actually find a lot of sweets too sweet now and have gotten away from most deep fried foods...can't seem to give up good dark chocolate and onion rings.......but if I live long enough....like to 99, I should be at goal weight at this pace....took the dog to obedience training last night...he is not very good at it or as the trainer says...mom isn't very good at it....but we spend an hour trotting around the arena...so at least I am getting the exercise part of it....oh...I haven't been quilting at all the last several weeks....need to do that....the dog will have to learn how to operate my foot pedal on the sit down machine...he probably will freak when Lucey starts her purring and beeping.....Lin

Betsy It looks gorgeous. I like how the half squares offset one row of blocks from another. Looks great. I am sure the quilting will make it a masterpiece. Cagey

That's pretty ambition, David. I made a quilt similar to this called Lady of the Lake, but it didn't have all those HST. It was the last quilt I handquilted.
