mscott2611
Have two borders around a quilt. One is 5 inches and will be putting a vine pattern in it the other is a 7 in outer solid border that was going to do with piano keys so that will require stitch in the ditch because don't want to stop and start every inch. So do I need to do stitch in the ditch on the inner border as well? Any helpful suggestions will be great fully accepted.
Sandra Darlington
I always do SID around my borders.
Primitive1
I would keep it consistant and SID the inner border as well as it would need to lie flat if hung up...another option rather than SID would be so Stitch about 1/4 inch away from the seams on both borders, that way if the seam is not straight it gives the illusion that it is, as well as something for you to backtrack on when you are doing your piano keys... Quilting Heidi
I always SID the borders. I think it just makes them pop better and it helps keep everything in line.

RoseCity Quilter
I always SID borders, not only does it make them pop, it stabilizes them.

SamQuiltDesigns
Ditto! Definitely to stablize it from the rest of the quilt. It is then much easier to quilt. Don't forget to show your work so we can enjoy. Anne
