dtreusch
I was working on a quilt yesterday and starting have a strange problem. I was working from the front of the machine and after about 3 hours of quilting, it suddenly became difficult to move the machine around in the first 6-8 inches of vertical space. The machine feels like it is dragging and it is a fight to make any kind of circles or curves in this area. This happens across the entire length of the table. Once I get out of this area, the machine glides again. I checked the wheels for thread, lint, etc. and they are fine. I cleaned the rails and wheels and it made no difference. Any ideas what might be causing the problem? Thanks, Deb
Myrna Ficken
Deb, Check to be sure you table is level. If it is off a bit it will act like this. Myrna
quiltaholi_518
What machine do you have? I have a Liberty and I was having a very similar sounding problem early on, then I realized that my horizontal locking bolt had virated down, and evertime I would pull the machine forward, it would drag. DUH! Once I realized it, VOILA! I always take the time to unscrew it sufficiently so it won't wiggle down. I thought I broke the machine, lol. Charlene
Also check that your power cord isn't getting caught in something. Char
