Mrs.A
I'll be in the Chicago area in September and would love to hear your opinions on the local quilt shops. I'll be staying in the northern suburbs but have rental car, will drive to fabric. Please tell me which shops I can skip and which are not to be missed. Thanks! CraftyThreads
There is a very quaint shop called "A Touch of Amish" in Barrington. My FAVORITE shop is "Quilter's Destination" in Arlington Heights. I live in Florida, but my parents live in DesPlaines, so I am up there often and always bring home fabric! lizziesgirl
Nancy, I will be in Chicago in September also, just curious if you are looking into being a sewing machine dealer? My reasoning for being in Chicago.
Mrs.A
Hi Sheryl: Nope...no plans to become a machine dealer. I grew up in the suburbs there & haven't been back in 20+ years. We're having a family reunion of sorts and my Jr. High School is throwing a big birthday party reunion because we're all (gulp) turning 60 this year. Thanks for mentioning those two shops, Barb. Anyone else care to advise me? Nancy in Tucson
Deb2bie
Nancy, Stitches n Stuffing in Naperville is a wonderful shop. Pieceful Hearts Fabrics in Lisle is very nice too. Smaller that SnS but really lots of neat stuff!!! Have fun!!!
