Bonnie Stainbrook
Please help me. I have the quilt glide and I'm not sure how engage it. I would like to do some stippling and I am intimidated by it. Also, I have the zipper leaders and not sure how to attach them to my leaders. Worried that if i do attach them then when i put leaders on the quilt top it will be in the wrong direction. Bonnie
MtnBarb
Bonnie, Dawn has posted a video on how to work the quilt glide on the APQS website. It's a Utube video and very informative!
srichardson
Bonnie, Darlene Epp has zipper instructions on her website http://trilliumhousedesigns.com/tips/ that I used. If you do a search of the APQS website you will find several discussions on installing zippers. Remember when you do a search to set the drop down menu so that the search is made for more than just the past week. Good luck, you will love your zippers. dancing bear
dancing bear is very new at this, but I did get the zippers on my leaders ... so if I can do it, be plenty sure you can do it!! The hardest part is actually sewing them on ... oooohhh, what a crooked line i sew. Finally had Mr. Dancing Bear give me a helping paw. No one sees that crooked stitching line anyway! I'm still having a wonderful time dancing and twirling and floating up and down the alley with Max, my New Toy! Fun fun fun ... twirl and bow!! srichardson
It is possible to use the channel locks to help with sewing a straight line. I didn't think about that until I had sewn of the first zipper! Sue
Nadia Wilson
Yes, channel locks work great for zipper installations! To turn "on" QuiltGlide, simply turn the knob on the faceplate all the way to the right and it is on! Stitch and enjoy the freedom of your new option! I really like Quilt Glide! quiltmonkey
I cheated and I sewed my zippers on the leaders using invisible (monofilament) thread. I don't see no crooked stitches.
