meg
hi - quick question.... when adjusting the hopping foot - is it supposed to be 1 or 2 business cards from the baseplate or 1 or 2 business cards from the quilt top when it is loaded? carolinequilts
From the base plate - I suggest 1 business card. My tension improved when I did this. However, I use Hobb's Heirloom which is kind of a flat batting. You might want it higher if you tend to use a higher loft batting. If your machine seems to drag while quilting, you may have set it too low.

LinneaMarie
Try not to make it higher, the tighter the better. Just remember have the fly wheel all the way down, by hand, slide the card part way under, so you can still see the hole. line it up and THEN tighten the screw. I musta done this 4 times and realized I had the fly wheel thing up! Oh, how come my hopping foot isn't moving?? DUH!! Most everything I put in it goes by 1 business card. Even the QD Deluxe loft.:P

John Mitchell
Business cards vary. I use a feeler stock .030 inch. John
