quilts4myluv
My sweet "George" will be arriving sometime in Sept. and I was wondering how would I list any quilts that I quilt with him. Would it be machine since he is not a stand up longarm? Or would my quilt still be considered quilted by a longarm?
witha'K'quilting
i would still believe it would be by longarm since George has a 20" throat. Our county fair does not distinguish machine quilting into a longarm category...so I am shooting from the hip here. But the 20" throat is longer than any domestic machine. JustSewSimple
As long as I was pushing my fabric under a needle I would consider it domestic quilting. You just happen to have a deeper throat than most (harp) as it is called. You are not quilting on a frame.
Neher-in-law5
Our county fair doesn't classify long arm or domestic. Ours breaks things into who did the work, yourself on all of it, or you pieced and hired the quilting. I use my George and enter as all my work. newellyn
I think the longarm catagory at our fair means a stand up machine that you move around. If you are maneuvering the quilt and not the machine it would be considered domestic machine quilting, IMHO. Of course we all know what MY experience with the fair is:P
Guest Linda S
Lots of shows now have the Best Machine Quilting Stand Up and Best Machine Quilting Sit Down categories. Even though George is a big boy, you're still a sit down quilter. Linda
