SYork
A friend brought me a large quilt 102" x 102" and a 400 count to use as the backing. The hems are removed and I think the holes will close after it is washed. The batting is also a cheap poly and the top is all embroidery. Will my milli and I have all sorts of problems? I have put this one off for several days because I am anticipating problems.
JustSewSimple
I can't speak to the question about the cheap polly but I just completed a quilt with that thick sheeting on the back and it came out perfectly. I used a 3.5 needle (I hardly ever use anything else) and Metro on top and bottom line on bottom (pink on top and white on bottom) and the stitches were beautiful. Not one thread break, not one tension problem. Now, mine had no embroidery. Good luck to you.
SYork
I didn't have a bit of trouble. I should have started this one sooner. My milli was just a perfect partner.

sspingler
I use a lot of sheets as backings for the kids quilts but I wash several times to soften them up and get rid of all the chemicals.
