newmillie2010
i will be at the Pacific International Quilt show in October. Do the sewing machine manufacturers (i.e. Bernina) have 'show' deals on their dsm's? Curious.
ffq-lar
I don't know about PIQ, but the Sewing Expos and large regional fairs which have DSM vendors always have a deal. I bought a Viking in 1999 that way. It was $500 off and I picked it up at the local dealer.
o2b Quilting
Bernina, along with the local dealer were at the Milwaukee Machine Quilter's Show last month. They had most models there but as it as a machine quilter's show they were pushing the new 830/820s. Usually the dealer in the booth doesn't want to haul the machines back to the shop so will make a good deal on the "demo" models at the show. Guest Linda S
Generally, if you go to a show where DSMs are used in the classrooms, you can get a GREAT bargain on those machines. They generally arrive as brand new machines, get used in the class, and then they are no longer considered new. The dealers also don't really want to pack them up and take them home, so you can really score. I almost bought a new Bernina at MQX a few years back, but I had just bought my Bernina the year before and couldn't really justify replacing it so soon. I remember the price was incredible.
