Bonnie in Ok
I am working on a church banner and got a small spot of grease from my sewing machine needle shaft. It is on banner material and it is white. what could I use to remove it that wouldn't require washing it?
Barbara Jo Belanger
Hi Bonnie, do a search for grease spots or oil spots on the forum. The search button is at the top of the page just under the APQS banner. I know there will be several posts.
ffq-lar
If it is clear oil and not black grease, use a cotton swab to apply baking soda--pile it on thick. Leave it for 10 minutes and vacuum off. If it is black grease, search the forum for multiple products to try. Good luck.
yankiequilter
I've used Sure Clean to clean grease. You can get it at Sally Beauty Supply and it is used to clean the hot wax machines. It evaporates and has never left a ring on fabric. It takes off adhesive, also. I've used it to clean my machine embroidery hoops. But...like so many things state, try it in an inconspicuous place to be sure it will work with your situation.

Quilting Heidi
All good advice. I'd try the baking soda first and the Dawn if you can't get it out. I've used that applied with a q-tip and it has worked well.
