That way you would find out how big to make the strips for the diamonds. With all of the lines being straight in the star, I don't think it would be difficult, and you would only have to draft one star arm, since they are all alike. I think if I just adjust the width of the strip and put in the required # of fabrics then I will be close to the same star as my picture.
