countrystitcher Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 Has anyone tried this and if so, how do you do it? I have a customer who would like the pantograph pattern in the main part of her quilt, but would like feathers in the borders. It would mean a perfect stop at the seams every single time. I'm I crazy? LOL
BarbWetzel Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 Yes, You can do it. Just go a head and do the Compu Quilter and Panogram and then go back and put in the feathers. It should work. Good luck.. Barb
Bonnie Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 What if you don't have a Compu Quilter to size the inside of your quilt body.....How would you do this without it. Wouldn't your starts and stops have to be marked with tape or something so you wouldn't go outside the body of the quilt?
ramona-quilter Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 When I use a panto for the body only, I place it under my patterngrid plastic on the table. Then I use a dry-erase marker to fashion a suitable start and stop. Could be just a loop to fill up the end or a modified partial of the end of the panto (copyright permitting, of course). Then I do my borders separately. I call it Panto Plus. If it has a border, I just feel like it needs to be treated separately. And I charge $25 to do the separate borders. I think that it really frames the quilt.
Bonnie Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 Thanks Linda...that's how I was doing it as well, but wasn't sure if I was correct. I don't use many pano's so wasn't completely sure if I was doing it right.
countrystitcher Posted October 25, 2006 Author Report Posted October 25, 2006 Linda, thanks, this is how I thought I would try it, but wasn't sure if someone else had a better solution. I know this chatroom is great for solving problems. Thank you.
