randi
New here... well not real new, just haven't posted much. I just changed the needle in Millie, and oiled it in bobbin area , turned it on to move the oil around in bobbin area. Problem: The needle stays down, and pulls to left, and hums. It won't come back up. I unplugged machine, and turned the wheel, to get it to come up. Tried it again and does it again. Help. I think I have the needle in right, slit to the back, bump to the front. randi
Katydids
Actually the slit or groove in the needle should be on the front side and so is the bump. If you have it the other way, the hook is most likely hanging up on the bump instead of riding in the indentation that is on the back side of the needle.
