Beachside Quilter
Bonnie Hunter is coming to our guild in February and will be holding workshops on two days. Does anyone have experience in taking her classes, and if so, what were your favorites? We are allowed to "request", so any input is appreciated! ffq-lar
Boxy Stars is a good one. It looks 3-D when the blocks are arranged just right. I have her "Shirttails" book and love her scrappy quilts!
quiltmonkey
She was just here in August. It was a blast. I loved her class making the little houses, hearts, words, etc... out of scraps. It is an adorable quilt. Everyone had fun at that class. BTW she is a GREAT teacher. Awesome teacher. Very fun.

LibbyG
Bonnie was at our guild two or three years ago, time flies! Our guild wanted the pineapple and My Blue Heaven because she uses the companion ruler and another one for that. I have yet to make them, but I've made Rick Rack Nines and Happily Scrappily Irish from the leader/ender book. I'll have to look at the Boxy Stars next. You'll love Bonnie. Tell her Libby said hello, as she stayed with me and we had a blast checking out quilt material and drinking tea. Both of us love tea and we have a tea merchant in town. So in preparation for her visit, I bought different kinds and we had them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Take pictures and post them for us when she visits. I found this picture. On the left is my friend, Theresa, Bonnie, Mary Koval, and me.
Beachside Quilter
Will do, Libby! "My Blue Heaven" is my favorite; I quilted one for a customer last year and have been aching to make one for myself. I have little time for piecing, but I can dream, right? I put in my request to our education director, now we'll see what two workshops we get!!
dancingraisin
I took two classes from Bonnie at Road to California in January: Jared Takes a Wife and ??? (oh dear, what was the name of that quilt??) Bonnie is a blast! You will have a wonderful time whatever quilt you make!
dancingraisin
Sister's Choice! Both are great scrappy quilts. I prefer Jared, but that's only because I am making it (yup, a UFO) with very bright fabrics.
srichardson
Bonnie will be at our guild in January. I haven't signed up for her workshops as it is right before Road To California and I am taking several classes there. Shame I would like to have taken a class with her.
