Pam Hill
Has anyone stitched over piping? How was it and do you have any advice? Pam
Primitive1
I have one on my frame now that has piping, and no I cannot stitch over it as it is too high and thick and on a previous one, I have tried to SID next to it but could not get as close as I'd like so on this one, I am just stitching up as close to it as I can and hoping it lays flat when the quilt comes off the frame.... Sheri Butler
I dont know that i'd stitch "over it".but you can certainly stitch very close to it!
delld
I haven't tried to stitch over piping and don't think I would try. If the customer wants it quilted IN the ditch by it I would suggest that the customer used her piping foot and stitch this after you return it to her. It would heck of a lot easier. GOOD LUCK! Butterfly
I don't stitch over piping because often my hopping foot will move the piping. I have recently started telling my customers that I do not do pantographs on quilts with piping or that dreaded flange. I will do an allover freehand design though, which I like to do better anyway and allows me to get close but not go over. Jess
ffq-lar
I'm with Dell- tell her you can't get close enough to SID the piping seam and she will need to use a piping foot after you are finished to SID. And yes, it will need to be SID'ed to give a good result.
